Current Stage: Call for Participants

Much of the research available supports the argument that when gender and race intersect, additional injustices are experienced by faculty of color who identify as women. This study further explores if administrators and faculty are aware of the challenges imposed on women of color during the tenure and promotion process, and if institutions are working to address these challenges.

Participation would be voluntary and includes 1-2 interviews (maximum 45 minutes each) and review of the final proposed model based on the study’s findings (5-10 minutes).

In order to be eligible to participate, individuals must be affiliated with a predominately white institution (50% or more of enrolled students identify as white) and have at least one colleague who identifies as a female faculty of color who could verify the information shared.

Participants will be entered in a raffle for a $100 Amazon gift card; there are 10 gift cards available for distribution upon the study’s completion so there is an approximate 50% chance of receiving one.

If you agree to participate, your identity and affiliated institution will remain confidential. Your privacy and the research records affiliated with this study will be kept confidential to the extent of the law.

If you are interested in participating, please feel free to email Shevell Thibou at thibous2@spu.edu.
